Last year we had our first large StarCraft2 project. We decided to come up with our own format, invite some of the best players we could find, reach out to influencers and casters we had never talked with before and try to make things happen in the best way possible. After the first QLASH SC2 Invitational was over, we received a ton of great feedback from both participants and viewers and we believe it was a massive success.

Afterwards we wanted to increase our presence in the scene and organised the QLASH Casters Invitational as well as the first QLASH Community Series. The StarCraft2 community is definitely a great one to have on your side and we are super happy to announce that we are launching a second edition of the QLASH SC2 Invitational! And it will start as early as… next week!

The players

For the second edition of the tournament we have decided to strive for balance among the 3 races with a 4/4/4 split between Protoss/Zerg/Terran. Like before, the players involved will all be European and will participate through our invitation without qualifiers. Our lineup this time is:

Artur “Nerchio” Bloch,  Mikołaj “Elazer” Ogonowski, Julian “Lambo” Brosig, Kevin “Harstem” de Koning, Riccardo “Reynor” Romiti, Théo “PtitDrogo” Freydière, Clément “Clem” Desplanches, Piotr “souL” Walukiewicz, Bogdan "HellraiseR" Kozar, Leon "goblin" Vrhovec, Marc "uThermal" Schlappi, Alexis "MarineLorD" Eusebio

The format

The format of the QLASH SC2 Invitational 2nd Edition will be 2 groups of 6 players each, playing a round-robin format in the first and online phase of the tournament!

As such, each player will play 5 matches and face all opponents in his respective group. After all 5 rounds have been played in both groups, the top two players from each group will proceed to the offline Grand Finals to be played in the QLASH House, near Treviso, Italy!

All matches in the round-robin phase will be in the Bo5 format.

The dates and times

Our first stream is scheduled on the 5th of June. After that we will be streaming a whole round on Tuesdays and Thursdays for Group A and Group B respectively. This means that on the 5th of June all 3 matches from Group A will be played and on the 6th of June all 3 matches from Group B will be played. From the second week onwards it will be Tuesdays and Thursdays continuing every week until all 5 rounds have been played with the sole exception being the 24th of June (Monday) when we will cover Group B round 4. The 5th and last round of the first phase will be played on the 2nd and 4th of July.

QLASH SC2 Invitational Schedule

Once this is done and dusted the QLASH House offline finals will be played in mid July. To put things into perspective, we will have 10 different online streams and a whole day of casting during the live finals. That is a lot of StarCraft 2!

All online rounds will start at 19:00 CEST and all 3 matches will be played and streamed consecutively so that we don’t miss any of the action! More information will be posted about the offline finals timings closer to the event.

The casters

Such a lineup of players certainly deserves casting talent to match it. We will be broadcasting the event with the captivating English commentary of:
Kevin “RotterdaM” van der Kooi and Benjamin “DeMusliM” Baker. We might also have a few surprises in terms of guest casters.

All games will be broadcasted on the official QLASH SC2 Twitch channel.

The prizepool

An unconventional format calls for an unconventional prizepool. We have decided to award €50 for every match win during the round robin-phase no matter what final position each player takes in the group.

Our offline finals will have a separate prizepool for the top players who qualify and join us in the QLASH House in Italy. The prizepool for the offline finals will be €2,500 with the following spread:

Winner: €1,000
Runner-up: €700
3rd place: €500
4th place: €300
